Group members: Maribel Giraldo Ramirez (Colombia), Kenrick Ayot (Kenya), Le Van Chien (Vietnam). Thailand experienced rapid economic growth between 1985 and 1996, becoming a newly industrialized economy and a major exporter. However, the rapid economic growth has been resulting in a steady decline of the natural resources which generated negative environmental consequences. Therefore, Sustainable Consumption and Production (SCP) was adopted in the 11th National Economic and Social Development Plan (2012-2016). Green public procurement (GPP) is a strategic tool towards sustainability and green growth. According to this, GPP was approved to be one of the country's strategies in 2010. The project aims at effective implementation of green procurement policy by public organizations in Thailand during 2014-2017.
